One person was injured in an accident on Interstate 77 in Washington county Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 7 am just north of the Marietta exit.

Marietta police officers say 20-year-old Ashley Fiers of Northfield Ohio was driving southbound on I-77 when she bumped another car.

Officers say that car spun across the median and ended up in the northbound lane causing two semi-trucks to swerve and avoid the car.

Fiers was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Two separate accidents on Interstate 77 just north of Marietta have been cleared. Lanes back open to motorists.

Marietta Fire officials say at this time, they are urging motorists to slow down as emergency crews clear the scene completely.

Two separate accidents have Interstate 77 shut down just north of Marietta at this time.

Marietta police dispatchers say they are closing the Interstate in both directions at this time, and motorists are urged to avoid that area.

Dispatchers say at least one person is injured and is being transported to the hospital.

Again, these two separate accidents are one mile north of exit one on Interstate 77 on both sides of the highway.
