Two people and a sheriff's deputy are heading to the hospital this evening, after a bizarre accident along U.S. Route 50.
Tuesday afternoon Wood County sheriff's deputies responded to the call of a man darting in and out of traffic.
Officials say a deputy moved into the eastbound lane to block traffic when the suspect ran into the side of his vehicle.
That deputy was injured in an attempt to apprehend the suspect and taken to an area hospital.
The suspect was eventually captured by an onlooker, and both were taken to the hospital.
The accident is currently under investigation.
