Lots of folks are getting those Christmas gifts ready to go under the tree, but some women in Parkersburg are preparing presents that have a much further destination.

The Senior Stitchers are filling boxes to send to troops overseas.

With everything from blankets and clothing, to candy and Christmas decorations, the group is making sure our military men and women have a good Christmas; even if they can't come home for the holidays.

"There's not words to explain how you feel. You just feel like it's such a joy to give to other people, and those guys have given so much for us," June Roberts, a member, said.

The Senior Stitchers send packages to troops year-round, but they say it's even busier during the holiday season when there are more boxes to fill.
