Some forgotten evidence has brought a halt to the Joseph Tranquill trial.
Tranquill and another man, David Runnion, were accused of the beating of John Conley outside a Parkersburg bar last summer.
Friday, on what was to be the third day of Tranquill's trial, a mistrial was declared.
Assistant prosecutor Sean Francisco says evidence was discovered that was not turned over to attorneys by a Parkersburg police detective.
Francisco says the trial will start over at a future date in front of a new jury. Runnion has pleaded guilty to three charges and is awaiting sentencing.
