The results of this month's primary are final, and there were no changes to the numbers from last week's voter canvass.
The Wood County Commission certified the election results Monday morning, that after no recounts were requested from the closest of the races from two weeks ago.
That was the Republican race for sheriff, with the winner having no opposition in this fall's election.
"It should show that every single vote does count," proclaimed Wood County Commission President Rick Modesitt. "We hear a lot about 'my vote doesn't count, and I'm not going to vote', and this should encourage people to go out and vote and make a difference."
Modesitt's colleague on the commission, former Sheriff Ken Merritt, was the winner of the close contest for sheriff, defeating incumbent Steve Greiner.
Republican Modesitt, meantime, will face Democrat Armando Colombo, Jr. in November.
