The national unemployment rate may be improving, but the number of those without work in West Virginia continues to rise.

The state's unemployment rate rose again in November, and is now at 7.9 percent.

With another 1,800 jobs lost, that makes it even tougher for those already on the job hunt.

"It's pretty bad unless you want to settle for minimum wage, part time, like 16 hours a week. That isn't really gonna feed a person," Ronald Drennen, who has been looking for work for nearly six months, said.

According to the Associated Press, about 1,000 of West Virginia's recent unemployment numbers comes from construction and mining and logging jobs.
