UPDATE 1/22/2010 6:30 AM
One man is dead this morning after an accident that authorities say involved alcohol.

The accident occurred just before 2 a.m. a little north of Mineral Wells.

According to Wood County Deputy Brett Pickens, the passenger who was ejected from the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pickens says the driver was wearing his safety belt, but the passenger was not.

Pickens said, "it appears that the driver went off the north brim and then began over correcting, crossing the median strip into the south bound lane where the vehicle rolled over at least one time ejecting a passenger."

The driver of the vehicle was taken to an area hospital.

At this time officials are planning to charge the driver with DUI with death.

State Route 14 is back open after being closed for two hours.
