Washington County's former maintenance supervisor Charles Moody has been indicted on several charges stemming from an investigation of the disappearance of $40,000 worth of light bulbs.
The 58-year old Moody was indicted by the Washington County Grand Jury on charges of theft in office, bribery and tempering with records.
Prosecutor James Schineider said Friday the charges involved not only the sale of light bulbs, but cleaning chemicals as well. Schneider said the items were never delivered.
Schneider says the investigation is continuing, and other charges may be brought later on.
"There may be others who are implicated down the road, but, at this point, he's the only one who's been indicted," Schneider said Friday afternoon. "He is the only one for whom charges arising out of this investigation have been presented."
Deputies in November searched Moody's home for financial records regarding the county's missing bulbs.
Sheriff Larry Mincks said at the time they discovered the bulbs were missing while investigating another case concerning destruction of records.
The thefts allegedly happened between September of 2008 and last summer.
