Economic Roundtable

Terrorism, corporate scandals and the economy in general have all had an effect on the stock markets, but an official with a regional securities firm believes the market has made it through the worst of the problems.

Parker-Hunter, Incorporated is listed with the New York Stock Exchange whose own chairman stepped down last year over concerns about his own pay.

"We're always hesitant to predict what will happen tomorrow or next month," says Richard Kampmeinert, Chairman and C.E.O of Parker-Hunter, incorporated, "but I think in the long run there are a lot of good things in place to lead us to higher equity valuations."

Kampmeinert spoke Tuesday to the Ohio Valley Business Roundtable, which presented him with an award from Marietta College's McDonough Leadership Program.
