A self-admitted sex offender is going to prison for 15 years.
Jerry Oldaker, Jr. of Parkersburg pleaded guilty in May to displaying obscene material to a minor and to two counts of displaying obscene material to seduce a minor.
Oldaker's attorney, William Summers, said Oldaker had no previous criminal record, save for a couple of shoplifting charges, but Wood County circuit court Judge Robert Waters gave Oldaker five-year prison sentences on all three counts.
After reading the pre-sentence report, which said Oldaker could be rehabilitated, Waters questioned whether Oldaker had taken responsibility for his actions.
Prosecutors say he not only exposed obscene images to his then five-year-old son, but at one point also duct-taped him to a chair.
In addition to the prison sentence, Oldaker will now have to register as a sex offender.
