The West Virginia Health Care Authority has allowed Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital to raise both inpatient and outpatient rates.
The average charge per in-patient discharge is going up by 4.97 percent to about $8,000. Outpatient rates will increase 4.51 percent.
"We do a tremendous amount of CT scans, MRIs, PET scans; more than any other facility," says Camden-Clark spokesman Greg Smith. "That's why you see our levels a little higher, because our average charges are higher. The average procedure that is done is higher."
The hospital had requested a 5.5 percent increase.
