Two people remain behind bars Thursday night in connection with drug trafficking.

Agents with the Major Crimes Task Force arrested 27-year-old Rennelle McKitrick and 30-year-old Travis Church.

Both McKitrick and Church were being investigated for selling cocaine.

Officers say these arrests bring them one step closer to dealing with the drug problem.

"This was a very lengthy investigation. It was an undercover operative. It's an over-a-year investigation, and this is our continuing war on drugs," Major Mark Warden with the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.

Both McKitrick and Church are being held at the Washington County Jail.

McKitrick's bond has been set at $15,000, and Church's bond at $5,000.
