Community Antenna Service, which serves parts of Wood and Jackson Counties, began transmitting our signal in high-definition Tuesday afternoon.
WTAP began broadcasting in HDTV on Channel 49 last fall, but until now the signal has only been available to those picking us up with an antenna.
CAS Manager Keith Leonard says that, for now, the high-def signal will only be available from time to time, but that it should be available full-time next week.
It's only available, by the way, on digital cable on Channel 285. We'll let you know when our HD signal is available on other area cable systems, including charter.
