Voters in Washington County are undecided on which party to affiliate with. Of the more than 41,000 registered voters in Washington County more than half are registered as unaffiliated. Officials say those high numbers have been a long time coming.
"We're finding that a lot more voters are choosing not to be affiliated with the major parties. I've been working at this job for like 4 years and that has seemed to be the trend in the time I've been here," says Peggy Byers, Director of the Board of Elections, Washington County. "In the whole 4 years it seems that that number has increased tremendously."
Ohio voters will have a greater number of parties to affiliate with this primary season. Constitution, Libertarian, Socialist and Green parties will all be on the ballot in Ohio.
