A man accused of rape appeared in Marietta Municipal Court Monday.
David Keeley, 50, is charged with one count of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition after being arrested this weekend
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says Keeley, who is a British citizen currently working in the U.S., confessed to having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a woman with a mental disability.
Bond was set at $5,000 on the rape charge Monday, along with the conditions that he have no contact with the vicitm or her family and surrender his passport.
He is out on bond.
A Marietta man is behind bars in Washington County for allegedly raping a woman with a mental disability in Marietta Friday.
In a news release, Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said 50-year-old David Keeley, who is an English citizen currently working in the U.S., confessed to having a sexual relationship with the victim.
The sheriff's office reports the woman had also been raped on a previous occasion. The incidents apparently happened at a home on the 100 block of Cornerstone Drive when the two were alone.
Keeley was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with one count of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition. He is being held in lieu of bond pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.
