April showers bring May flowers, but sometimes those plants need a little help getting started.
Students with the Washington County Career Center spent Friday on the Harmar Bridge in Marietta, planting hanging flowers for the area's foot traffic to enjoy.
The students started growing the plants in January. They got started at about 9 a.m. Friday and spent the majority of the school day working on the project.
Students say they just like taking part in something that adds so much beauty to the community.
"Just being able to hear stories go through Marietta of how beautiful the bridge looks now because of something that we did," Stephanie Casteel, a student, said.
"When we add the color people do come out and are like 'look at this,' and then we can come and be like 'we did that,'" Breanna Allen, a student, said.
