Slippery roads are to blame for an accident that sent one woman to the hospital.

It happened a little before noon on Interstate 77 just south of the Emerson Avenue exit.

Crews at the scene say the driver hydroplaned into the median and then rolled several times. They say the driver was the only person in the vehicle, and was taken to the hospital with what appears to be minor injuries.

"People just need to be cautious when it's raining. Even if it is front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, they still leave the road," Waverly Volunteer Fire Chief Terry Hefner said.

First responders say when it rains, that particular area of the interstate is prone to accidents.
