UPDATE: Georgia Man Sent Back

A former Parkersburg man wanted for questioning in a Georgia murder will be heading back south.

Chris Lowery was arrested Wednesday at a Marietta hotel after officials say he ran from them to avoid being questioned in the case.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says Lowery appeared in a Marietta court Thursday and is charged with being a fugitive of justice.

Lowery also waived extradition.

Authorities will take him back to Georgia soon.

The man police say was wanted for questioning in a Georgia murder case has been apprehended.

The West Virginia State Police Office tells us that Chris Todd Lowery was caught by U.S. Marshals Tuesday night.

Lowery was arrested for allegedly stealing the vehicle of a victim who was reportedly stabbed to death on or about May 25, 2010.

He was reportedly in that vehicle at the time of his arrest. In a press release, the U.S. Marshals Service reports Lowery is a suspect in this reported homicide.

Lowery was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he faces extradition to Georgia.


Police need your help in the search for a man wanted for questioning in a Georgia murder case.

First Sergeant Eric Ashcraft of the West Virginia State Police says Chris Todd Lowery is a white male, 45 years old...6'2", and 190 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair.

He was last seen driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with Georgia license plates.

Ashcraft says Lowery is wanted for questioning regarding a murder in Rincon, Georgia, near Savannah.
