Many workers have been trying to stay cool to get their jobs done outside.
Construction, landscaping, and utility workers are some of the many bearing the hot and humid conditions.
Friday crews were out working on a sidewalk and a water leak on Fifth Street between Julianna and Market Streets in Parkersburg.
Thomas Cale of the Parkersburg Utility Board said "(Workers are) drinking a lot of water and staying in the shade as much as we can."
Don Groh of the Parkersburg Utility Board said " (I) look for a shade tree or sit in the air conditioning.
One worker said there have already been a few days that he has felt overheated.
Some said it's the humidity that really gets to them on days like these.
