It's the 225th anniversary of Fort Harmar in Marietta, and some of the area's youth are working to bring that history to life.
The Marietta YMCA's Summer Adventure Campers and other volunteers are building a model of the fort.
It was originally located near Harmar Elementary to protect Native Americans.
Those over the project say it allows kids to get their hands dirty and learn something at the same time.
The working model of the fort will be about thirty feet wide, opposed to the three-fourths of an acre that the real fort covered.
