Independence Day is just around the corner, and a local historical group is celebrating with all sorts of stars and stripes.
A display of 70 different flags America has fought under since the American Revolution can be found on the third floor of the Washington County Courthouse.
The Cincinnati chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is loaning the flags to the Marietta chapter.
SAR members say the courthouse is the perfect place for old glory and other flags to get some attention.
"As the seat of government here in Washington County, it's an appropriate place to have them. It's a perfect thing for the fourth of July; showing all the different types of flags that are on display," Scott Britton, a SAR member, said.
The flags will remain on display in the courthouse for the rest of the week.
