The Armory Square project in Marietta now has all the funding needed to revitalize the historic Ohio National Guard building.
Governor Ted Strickland visited the facility Tuesday to announce the historic preservation tax credit of more than $800,000.
That puts the Armory Square fund above $3 million, and completes what's needed to turn the facility into a multi-use community center.
"We believe this is gonna be a good thing for downtown Marietta, and it will preserve a wonderful old structure that has such meaning to so many individuals who have served in our military, as well as their families and relatives," Governor Strickland said.
Dozens of people came out to greet the governor and hear the big news.
