A major part of Marietta College will soon get a makeover, and the search is on for help with the project.
The college has plans to renovate the Don Drumm football stadium, and Tuesday morning had a pre-bid meeting for all interested contractors.
One of the main issues is raising the facility above the flood plane level, but athletic director, Larry Hiser says it's also about recruiting and having the best resources possible for student athletes.
"We want to be able to provide a first-class facility for our student athletes when they look at us after completing their high school educations. In a lot of cases the high school facilities are pretty impressive these days, and so when they get to college they want to see something equal to or greater than their high school experience," Hiser said.
Hiser says the college will have a better idea as to the cost of the project once it hears back from the bidders.
He says it already has an initial donation from the family of a former player.
