Police have another person of interest in connection with the attempted robbery of a Coolville bank back in June.

Athens county Sheriff Patrick Kelly says they have apprehended Richard L. Morgan of Glouster Ohio in connection with not only the attempted robbery of the hocking valley bank but other banks throughout Southeastern Ohio.

Kelly says Morgan was allegedly the driver of the vehicle that robbed the banks.

We're told Morgan and the other person of interest whose name isn't being released are both being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.

Officers from the Athens County Sheriff's Department tell us they have a person of interest in a recent bank robbery in Coolville, as well as other recent robberies in southern Ohio.

The attempted bank robbery happened June 18th at the Hocking Valley bank in Coolville.

"On December 28 (2009), there was a bank in Glouster, Ohio that was robbed at gunpoint", Sheriff Patrick Kelly told reporters Wednesday morning. "On June 18th, at approximately 2:20 P.M., there was an attempted robbery at a bank in Coolville. And this past weekend, June 26th, the Kingston Bank in Ross County was robbed at gunpoint."

Sheriff Kelly says the person of interest is incarcerated at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on unrelated charges. Investigators are not releasing his name because he has not been charged with the robberies.

Shortly after the attempted robbery, Sheriff Kelly said a car believed used in the incident was stolen earlier in the day....from a resident in the Parkersburg area.
