A combination of Monday's heat and the holiday weekend had many flocking to the pool to stay cool.
For example, the Marietta Aquatic Center was packed with pool patrons Monday afternoon.
Just two hours after opening, it already had nearly 1,000 customers.
Managers say by the end of the day, it could very well beat this year's record of about 1,200 people.
"We're just slammed with people. Our job is to keep everybody safe, comfortable, happy and cool today. We like it busy," Donna Lauser, a manager, said.
Lauser also says lifeguards and other employees have to really be on their toes on busy days like Monday.
