Years of experience and knowledge of the job is what it took for two local firefighters to move up in the ranks.
The city of Parkersburg promoted Wayne White to lieutenant.
White has ten years of experience as a firefighter and also served six years as a police officer.
Also honored was Eric Taylor, who was promoted to captain.
Taylor has about 18 years of experience as a firefighter.
"Wayne and Eric will do a very good job. They've done a very good job in the past, and I see it to be no different in the future," Chief Eric Chichester said.
Both Taylor and White were sworn into their new ranks Monday morning by Parkersburg Mayor Robert Newell.
