Five contestants grabbed a shopping basket and raced through the aisles of the Cook's Shop in Marietta Tuesday morning.

Participants of Fox Parkersburg's "Cooking up fun" contest had 37 seconds to gather items.

The goal was to come as close to $286.37 as possible.

When all said and done, Chip Coffin came out on top with about $289 worth of cookware.

He says his strategy was actually pretty simple.

"I thought probably the best thing to do was just get larger items with larger costs, and just try to get as close as I could to the cost," Coffin said.

Along with some other prizes, Coffin was able to keep all the items he collected during the shopping spree.
