Martinsburg, W.Va. (AP) -- All 14 candidates running for the late Robert C. Byrd's U.S. Senate seat have been invited to participate in a forum in the eastern panhandle.

The Aug. 19 forum at the Jefferson High School auditorium in Shenandoah Junction is sponsored by the League of American Voters.

Ten Republicans, three Democrats, and a Mountain Party candidate are running in the August 28th primary.

League of American Voters executive director Bob Adams says organizers hope all the candidates will participate in the forum.

Heather Goodwin Henline, editor of the Journal Newspaper, will be the forum's moderator.

Henline says the forum is an opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates and where they stand on issues.
