UPDATE: 10/10 3:30PM

Ashley Young is sentenced to life in prison for murder, aggravated murder and endangering children.

She's also sentenced to three years for tampering with evidence and six months for attempted aggravated possession of drugs.

In May of 2011, the Athens County Prosecutor says Young physically assaulted the four-year old, eventually killing her.

He says she then tried to hide the evidence.

After her step-daughter's death, the prosecutor says Young tried to buy percocet from a drug dealer.

Young will serve those sentences concurrently and is eligible for parole after 20 years.

Ashley Young changed her plea from not guilty by reason of insanity to guilty on Tuesday.

She faces charges of murder, aggravated murder, tampering with evidence, endangering children and attempted aggravated possession of drugs.

In what's called an Alford Plea, like Young's, it doesn't mean she admits to the act, but it admits the state has enough evidence to convince a juror of her guilt.
