And kids weren't the only one's cooling off Wednesday in the last dog days of summer.
Now it wasn't adult swim but time for pooches to take a dip themselves.
The Marietta Family YMCA along with the City of Belpre held the third annual Doggie Swim.
Our four legged friends was out to get a dip in the pool and interact with other pooches.
And they wasted no time playing fetch or making a splash or two in the water.
A fun way for both the pet owner and their dog to enjoy the final days of summer.
"Pets are like their kids. So they really enjoy bringing them out here, watching them swim, play fetch with them, go catch the balls and the frisbees and stuff that they bring for them," says Marietta Family YMCA and Belpre City Pool Manager, Jennifer Shoup.
The Doggie Swim saw a huge increase of the four-legged friends attending compared to years past.
About 30 dogs came out and enjoy a day to themselves in the pool.
