UPDATE: 8/10/2013 3:46 PM

Several people, including three children, are being treated in area hospitals after a truck and car collided on Ohio State Route 60.

It happened at about 10 o'clock Saturday morning just outside Lowell.
Authorities say Matthew Smith was driving northbound on SR 60 when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. That forced the pickup truck driven by Gale Knoch off the road.

Knoch had three children in the car with him. A one, six, and eight year-old.

Police say Smith, Knoch and one child were trapped in the cars. Officials used the Jaws of Life to get them out.

Smith was flown by helicopter to OSU Hospital in Columbus and is expected to survive.

Knoch and all three kids were taken to Marietta Memorial. Knoch has since been moved to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. His condition is unknown.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says everyone was wearing a seatbelt. The cause is under investigation.
