Celebrating their agricultural history.
The city of Marietta put on their eighth annual Sweet Corn Festival Saturday afternoon.
Before the storm hit, many kids and adults got their taste of some sweet corn.
The festival committee is raising money for college scholarships for two high school seniors who want to pursue an education in the agricultural field.
Witten Farm Market of Beverly played a major role in the festival.
They donated all the sweet corn to this event.
"We have a good thing going here, we're hoping to help out. It doesn't pay the bills to get through a degree but helps them get started and I hope they go learn and bring that information back to the Ohio Valley," says Mark Doebrich of the Marietta Sweet Corn Festival Committee.
Last year, the Marietta Sweet Corn Festival Committee raised between $8,000 and $10,000 for their scholarship.
