A Vienna man has died from injuries suffered in a two vehicle accident in the city.
A police officer said Monday afternoon the car 74-year-old William Minear was driving northbound on Grand Central Avenue crossed the median, striking the car Rosella Hopkins was driving in the opposite lane.
He said Minear died from injuries at the St.Joesph's Campus of Camden Clark Medical Center Monday evening.
Seventy-eight-year-old Hopkins and her passenger 88-year-old Chloie Batton were reportedly in stable condition at Camden Clark Medical Center Monday night.
The crash remains under investigation.
Three people were taken to an area hospital after an accident on Grand Central Avenue Monday afternoon.
According to officials, a car southbound on Grand Central Avenue started crossing the median and hit a car head on in the opposite lane.
The occupants of each car were sent to Camden Clark Medial Center with serious injuries.
Police say they aren't sure if citations will be issued at this time.
"The Vienna Police Department will be handling the actual investigation," says Wood County Sheriff's Office Deputy Mike Deem. "The crash team is out assisting them. Officer Powell will consult with the prosecutor once we get all of our facts together and we'll see if there are any citations issued or not."
The names and conditions of those involved in the accident have not been released.
Authorities are on the scene of an accident on Grand Central Avenue.
According to Wood Co. dispatchers, the accident is near the 400 block Grand Central.
Not sure how many cars are involved.
