UPDATE: Victim's Name Released In Stillwell Accident

Authorities confirm 17-year-old Derek Scott, of Washington, WV, passed away Wednesday as a result of injuries sustained in the crash on Stillwell Road.

The investigation is ongoing.

One of the passengers in Tuesday's crash on Stillwell Road has passed away.

Deputies confirm that at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, the 17-year-old backseat passenger in the vehicle was taken off of life support at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Officials on the scene of the crash Tuesady said the car went airborne on Stillwell Road off of Route 50 before it collided with a tree.

Both the driver and the other passenger were taken to Camden Clark Medical Center.

One was treated and released Tuesday, while the other remains in good condition at Camden Clark Medical Center.

Sheriff Jeff Sandy says this accident remains under investigation.

The backseat passenger is in the ICU at Charleston Area Medical Center.

The names of the 3 juveniles are not being released at this time.
Three juveniles were sent to the hospital after a crash off Stillwell Road this afternoon.

Wood County Sheriff's Department Officials say the car was airborne when it collided with the tree.

All three passengers were injured in the crash.

Deputies say the front side passenger was up and walking when officials arrived on scene, but the driver and other passenger were in much worse condition.

The backseat passenger was trapped and the roof had to be taken off to retrieve him from the car.

The driver and front seat passenger were taken to Camden Clark Medical Center by ambulance.

The backseat passenger was in critical condition and flown by helicopter to Charleston Area Medical Center.

Their conditions are not known at this point in time.

The Sheriff's Department is continuing their investigation into the accident.
