Wendy's restaurants in the Mid-Ohio Valley have donated $18,000 for a scholarship program at WVU-Parkersburg.
The scholarship money will be available to anyone who has gone through the adopted or foster child process.
It's an effort to provide college educations to people who wouldn't be able to afford them.
"We found there was a great need for funding," said Wendy's co-owner Kim Blackburn, "because they don't have a family they can count on, and don't have the resources of people they can fall back on for their college education."
The money for the scholarship fund was raised through the sale of key tags at local Wendy's restaurants and at the college.
