Update 12/18/2012 6:15 P.M.
It was a success, but the Mid-Ohio Valley Air Show needs more money.
That's what organizers of last Sunday's show told the Wood County Commission Thursday.
Co-director Donna Rusche asked the commission for an additional $23,000 to cover expenses.
That's in addition to more than $17,000 the county previously gave the show's organizers.
Rusche says some last-minute sponsor cancellations were one reason for the request.
She adds that, aside from some disappointment military planes weren't on hand for Sunday's expo, the public was generally pleased with this year's event.
For those of you who like riding on planes, the Mid-Ohio-Valley Regional Airport has an exciting event you don't want to miss.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Air Show returns to wood county on sunday with opening ceremonies from senator manchin, senator bill johnson among others.
The event is free for everyone as they will get to check out air show performances, static aircraft and prize drawings.
However, this event only comes every two years. "Air shows are great enormous project to undertake, to underwrite and to fund. So we keep the event for two years and keep the excitement" says Air Show Co-Director, Donna Rusche.
Gates open up at 10 am with the opening ceremonies starting at noon.
There will also be free shuttle rides to the air show at the Williamstown Visitor Center and the WVUP campus. And those coming from Marietta can be picked up on 2nd and Butler Street or the Kroger Shopping Center.
