An Auction To Help Shelter Domestic Violence Victims

By  |

One local organization held an auction Friday evening to help shelter victims of domestic violence.

EVE, Incorporated, Marietta held its 31st annual Benefit Auction at the Lafayette Hotel.

Over 200 people came out to do both a silent and live auction on several items donated by individuals and area businesses.

Items in the live auction had the most value.

All proceeds will help benefit grants for the EVE, Incorporated Domestic Shelter.

"People who are survivors of domestic violence, often don't have a place to go. They need to get out of the situation, have a cooling off period and have a place to go where the abuser can't get to them," says EVE, Incorporated Benefit Auction Co-Chair, Molly Varner.

Last year, EVE, Incorporated raised $24,000 at the benefit auction.

They hope to raise over $25,000 at this year's event.
