UPDATE 10/09/2013 11:55 AM
Two parents are behind bars for the death of their infant child in a car accident in Jackson County months ago.
Shawn and Jessica Souther are arrested for child neglect resulting in death.
We reported in August about a Parkersburg family rolling their truck around the 128 mile marker on I-77 in Jackson County.
The crash threw their 21-month-old baby from the car, killing the child.
During further investigation the Jackson County Sheriff's Office says Shawn and Jessica Souther didn't buckle in the baby in the back seat.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for their arrest and the Washington County Sheriff's Office made the arrest.
Both have been extradited with neither posting their $250,000 bond and they remain in jail.
An area youngster is reported dead after a single-vehicle accident in Jackson County.
Sheriff Tony Boggs identifies the child as 21-month old Gabriel Souther.
Gabriel is the son of Shawn and Jessica Souther, who currently live in Lower Salem, but are originally from Parkersburg.
Sheriff Boggs says Gabriel died at Charleston Area Medical Center, of injuries from the late afternoon accident Tuesday.
Few details of the accident are known, except that the Souther's car went into the median on interstate 77 near Kenna and overturned.
Shawn Souther also was taken to CAMC, and his injuries aren't known.
