UPDATE: Man Pleads Guilty in Belpre Subway Robbery

At the Washington County Courthouse Tuesday one man pleaded to a restaurant robbery.

Belpre Police arrested 21-year-old Jason Stewart November 12th last year for an armed robbery at the Washington Boulevard Subway.

According to the prosecutor's office his sentencing is March 28th.

11/12/12 3:30 Update

A man is arrested after demanding more than a sandwich at Subway Monday night.

The Belpre Police Department says around 6:30 Monday evening a masked man entered the Subway shop on Washington Blvd. demanding money while threatening the cashier with a handgun.

He then ran from the store.

Authorities say it was thanks to several witnesses that the suspect was found near the Rockland Avenue area.

Police say 21 year old Jason R Stewart of Belpre is charged with aggravated armed robbery.

He remains in the Washington County Jail.

Officials say they were able to cover both the gun used in the robbery and the money taken from Subway.

Belpre Police are still investigating an armed robbery of the subway on Washington Boulevard in Belpre tonight.

Right now several suspects are detained at the moment, but it is still unclear if more than one person is responsible as police continue to look into the situation.

11/11/13 9:52 Update

Around 8:30 WTAP was notified of an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant in Belpre.

The Belpre Police Department confirmed the tip-off.

The male suspect is still on the loose as police continue to investigate.

So far the only description is that he was tall around 6'3" or 6'4" and skinny.
