Bad Weather Impacts Businesses, Events

By  |

Winter storms cost money, and not just for cities needing to pay for plow drivers and salt.

Snow shovels are a hot seller, but the storm plowed under one of the biggest bridal shows of the year.

It's been a long winter and it's not over yet.

Businesses across the Valley are seeing the ups and downs.

Over in Vienna Lowe's managers say this weekend supplies were flying off the shelves.

Salt supplies came in Saturday morning and they were gone before noon.

They are running out of lots of things and not getting more in stock.

Over 100 vendors and around 300 brides were expected to show up for the Great Bridal Event, with crowds in the thousands.

They had hundreds of flowers prepared.

Luckily insurance helped and those flowers can be re-purposed.

The event has now been postponed; however, organizer Keith McClung says they now have more time to plan and even add vendors.
