A first day of smiling faces, as the Belpre School District goes back to school.
Superintendent Tony Dunn says everyone is excited about a new school year.
The district welcomes about twenty new students and many improvements coming their way.
One of those is bumping up security with new secure front doors coming soon on both the elementary and high schools.
"We've been real lucky in Belpre and haven't had any intruders or any real issues, with that kind of thing but you never know when that could happen, so we want to provide the safest environment we can for our kids," says Dunn.
Dunn says the funding for the doors is through a safety grant.
He adds they were dealing with transportation issues because of railroad construction Tuesday morning and had to find alternate bus routes, but everything ran smoothly.
