Belpre Volunteer Fire Department Recognizes 9/11 Anniversary

While some held ceremonies, others found a different way to observe 9-11.

The Belpre Volunteer Fire Department used its aerial ladder truck to hoist an American flag high above its main station along Washington Boulevard.

The department displayed its firefighting trucks as well, including its vintage early 20th century truck.

The fire department has long had a painting outside its main station of the now-iconic photograph of a group of firefighters raising the stars and stripes above the rubble of the World Trade Center on 9-11.
