Washington County Special Olympics athletes took over North Hills Lanes Sunday afternoon.
More than 140 athletes competed in the bowling tournament.
Each athlete bowls two games to try to qualify for the state tournament.
Organizers say it's a great way to stay active during the winter, and it's a fun time for athletes and family.
"We do other events as well. There's a swimming event, as well as track and field event. The track and field event is probably a little more well known but it's just like anything else. All these athletes has different interest so we try to provide as many activities like this as we can and the bowling works out great for a winter time event," says District 8 Event Coordinator Dennis Robertson.
