Bricks fell from an historic Parkersburg building, causing a big mess.
Bad weather is believed to be a factor.
Bricks started falling a week ago from a vacant building at 13th and Avery Streets.
The city code director says the roof was leaking and water got between the walls.
When it froze, it expanded, breaking the bricks loose.
The owner, who lives out of town, was contacted about the issue.
Tuesday it got worse - several more bricks hit the ground.
Crews removed bricks from the building that were barely hanging on.
A contractor is coming this week to work on it.
The city code director says structurally the building is fine.
Avery Street is down to one lane in that area.
