The Hiatt Cemetery in Vienna was almost un-recognizable before the volunteers arrived.
Overgrown trees and bushes were knocked down and tombstones became more visible as the volunteers worked hard to transform the cemetery.
"Churches always took care of cemeteries that were located nearby and that's what we plan to do here at the Grand Central Church of Christ. We weren't really aware there was even a cemetery over here," said organizer Patty Cooper.
During the clean-up, the volunteers discovered another cemetery way back in the woods that they hope to restore eventually as well.
