People in Parkersburg didn't have to go far to shop for holiday gifts.
The City of Parkersburg put on a special holiday market downtown this afternoon.
The market takes place at the new WVUP Downtown Center.
It features agricultural products, local produce, and of course Christmas decorations.
More than 18 vendors participate in the holiday market.
Winter Blues Healthy Lifestyle School was on hand showing shoppers on a budget how to cook healthy meals.
The City of Parkersburg has a goal in place for the holiday market.
"The downtown farmers markets open in the springtime on Tuesdays and Fridays. Eventually, we like to see that go year round. So the winter market is an effort to expand our hours and increase the availability of things you have at farmers market downtown," says Parkersburg City Planner, Rickie Yeager.
Market shoppers also enjoyed free music and hot cocoa.
