It's the 150th anniversary of Ohio soldiers crossing the Ohio River and invading Parkersburg.
A commemoration is planned with a sternwheeler crossing the river much like what happened below the Memorial Bridge in 1861.
"probably about twenty some troops on the sternwheeler with the canon and we'll fire the canon and have some music and speeches and historical introductions," says Dave McKain of The Oil and Gas Museum in Parkersburg
Spectators can watch the event this Saturday at the Ohio Valley Rowing Club site at the foot of nineteenth street.
The event will take place at one o'clock.
