It's a battle on the court for a good cause.

Fellow police officers and firefighters in Parkersburg squared off in a charity basketball game Sunday afternoon.

It was an exciting game at the Rod Oldham Athletic Center at Parkersburg South High School.

Emergency workers showed off their skills to help raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

Donations were collected for the Adventure Pursuit's crew and kayaking programs.

Both police are firefighters agree they don't mind having a little fun for a good cause.

"Well anytime we can team up and help somebody in the community, I guarantee it, all you have to do is ask us and we do the best we can. We're not as young as we used to be but we're able to come out here and raise some money and that's what really counts," says Sergeant Greg Collins of the Parkersburg Police Department.

With 15.3 seconds left in the game, the firefighters hit a huge three pointer.

That tied up the game.

And in the end both teams come out winners, with a score of 53 to 53.
