One local Corvette group took advantage of the beautiful weather to host its annual car show and raise money for a good cause.

The Blennerhassett Corvette Association hosted their annual Corvette show Saturday afternoon at City Park. Each year the car show benefits a local charity and this year proceeds collected at the show went to the Fraternal Order of Police's 'Shop With A Cop' benefit.

Club President Fred Willard says he's honored to be able to help the charitable program in any way he can.

"This is a huge step. According to our friends in the police force, it's very heart warming to buy presents for children who come from a very poor and sometimes abused backgrounds," Willard says.

Willard adds that he could not have a successful car show without the support of other local businesses and the community.
