County Vehicle Policy

Wood County deputies, like their police counterparts in Parkersburg, take their cruisers home.

But Sheriff Jeff Sandy told the county commission Monday the policies for personal use of those cars need to be reviewed.

The sheriff says there have been instances where deputies have used those vehicles for uses like transporting family and other passengers.
He says that could be a liability issue.

"You may want to consider having a policy on what Wood County Sheriff's office employees, what the assessor and others can and cannot use county vehicles and county gasoline for," the sheriff said.

The commission Monday also accepted a bid from Miller Communications, for installation of security cameras at the Wood County Courthouse.
